Dr. Kairo, is a certified marine ecologist and a Chief Scientist with KMFRI, where he heads a dedicated team dedicated to mangrove research. His broad research interests are; marine biodiversity and ecosystem functions, sustainable development, restoration ecology, blue carbon, climate change. Dr. Kairo has authored and co-authored more than 80 scientific publication.
