Wetlands International will train late October 2015 selected leaders of both countries on the management of sites by the flyway approach.
Wetlands International through the project ” From the Arctic to Africa ” funded by ARCADIA Foundation, organizes a Senegal/ Gambia transboundary training workshop on the management of sites by the flyway approach. This capacity building for officials of parks, reserves and marine protected areas is scheduled from 28th to 30th October 2015 at the Delta du Saloum National Park in Senegal.
It is an occasion for Wetlands International to further strengthen the understanding of site managers on the concept of flyway approach and how to integrate this approach into the management of key sites for migratory waterbirds in Senegal and in the Gambia. The objective is also to provide adequate responses to the degradation and loss of habitats in these important sites for migratory waterbirds in the area.
This training session is in the wake of the one organized in conjunction with the CMB and WSFI projects in December 2013 at the Djoudj National Park. Ten participants will attend it.
